Ledley, 21, was the subject of a dramatic deadline day bid from Stoke on Monday that could have seen the Wales international follow friends Chris Gunter and Aaron Ramsey into the big time.

Stoke boss Tony Pulis tried to give Ledley the opportunity of playing regularly at Old Trafford, Anfield and the Emirates Stadium, only for the Bluebirds hierarchy to insist he had to remain at Cardiff City.

We played Stoke City away in the FA Cup on a Sunday night in January. We all got together, hired a minibus and drove to the match. Everybody loved it and that's what away trips are all about for me.
